We met at a children’s book meet up in Berkeley, CA. Impressed by the other’s art and ideas, we met up several more times, learning we had a shared love of curiosity, nature (especially spiders!), and quirky fun. We both had aspirations for our own work, but enjoyed sharing and doodling together before dinner or over tea and coffee on Sunday mornings.

It wasn’t until 2019 while we were stuck in an airport waiting 8 hours for a delayed flight that inspiration struck. While the planes weren’t taking off, our ideas were! We wrote and drew for hours and hours, and landed back home with four book ideas we wanted to pitch together!

Our first collaboration together is a three-book deal with Candlewick Press, starting with One Tiny Treefrog, a unique and visually stunning picture book following ten little tadpoles on the journey of survival to become one tiny red-eyed treefrog.
